The Pledge:

The Shiloh Institute believes working purposefully to reach a ceasefire is the most effective way to ensure the protection of civilians and to bring the necessary resources and relief to begin the process of healing.

With each day that passes more lives are lost and the humanitarian catastrophe in the Middle East is getting worse. The truth is that our world is running out of words to describe the extent of the pain and suffering across on both sides right now.

We are charged with the moral authority to remind the world that what they see on their television screens—bloodied and laid out on hospital floors, in streets, in school yards, including civilians who are rescued from under the rubble of bombed-out buildings—are human beings, with dreams and lives.

If there is not an “immediate ceasefire” the Middle East will stumble and fall further into an abyss, from which there will be no clear exit. Although there remains a litany of measures needed to restore long-term stability a ceasefire represents the most immediate option to bring the region back from the brink.

The Shiloh Institute believes that an “immediate ceasefire” could reduce the risk of catastrophic, escalating regional war.

The Shiloh Institute joins, millions around the world who stand on the principles of peace and human rights as we demand all parties involve place the greater of humanity above all issues related to furthering this human tragedy and immediately accept an “immediate ceasefire”.

We appeal with great urgency to all parties on both sides and to do more and do anything to immediately stop the carnage now.

We join with the believers of peace all over the world who congregate in mosques, churches, synagogues as people of all faiths pray that the violence will end now!

How many more civilians on both sides will be killed before the world says enough?

We urge President Biden and all likeminded global leaders to wield all the influence and power secure an “immediate ceasefire” and stop this devastating spiral of violence which threatens to engulf people living not just in the Middle East but in many parts of the world.
